We love staying at Hostel International properties around the world and it is no different in New York City. HI has the main focus of promoting a more tolerant world. They are in fact a non-profit association that supports travel as a way to build positive relationships with people and destinations around the world.
As frequent travelers we have more chances for things to go wrong, so we take safety as our number one priority in everything we do, after learn it the hard way. We like staying in accommodations that are as safe and of high quality, which is key when you are traveling. The HI New York City Hostel is the perfect place for a budget friendly trip to New York City. They offer bunk rooms ranging from 4 to 12 beds.
Beyond the Basic Accommodations
What we like the most about our stay in the HI NYC Hostel was the customer service, they are always smiling and ready to assist you. The hostel includes flip flops, a pillow, a blanket, a towel, in-room WiFi and a locker. The premium rooms also include breakfast: a fruit, bagel, coffee.
I love this hostel because it has many amenities including pool table, café, reading rooms, laundry rooms, dinner tables and a kitchen. Even though the hostel is located near the top of Central Park, it is conveniently located a block away from the subway and three blocks from Central Park. We took the number 1 line and we hardly had to change to other lines to visit every place we wanted. In less than 30 minutes you could be in Times Square or Rockefeller Center.
Becoming a Global Ambassador
Our favorite part about staying at the HI NYC Hostel is all the fun and interesting people we met from around the world. The last day there we even had a quick post-breakfast game of pool with some new friends from South Korea. The hostel also runs daily free and activities to enjoy the city with other guests. It is the perfect way to discover NYC with your love one or at least to make new friends along the way.
We took Jerry’s Grand Tour, a full day walking tour covering a little bit of every corner of the city. This $10 tour is more than just a walking highlight tour, with the energetic and eccentric Jerry leading the group with his informative tips and tangent tails. Between each stop it gave us plenty of time to forge new friendships the other people from the hostel.
