Other End of the Leash Pet Boutique & Bakery
Take your dog to Durham’s only pet boutique for an endless supply of high quality pet products and fresh baked dog treats. Just make sure not to spoil your dog too much.
American Tobacco Campus
Walk through the former factory complex of Lucky Strike cigarettes. It has been transformed into an entertainment, restaurant and startup filled destination with endless open green areas. There is even a basketball court and small river running through the campus. There are several flowered areas that do not allow dogs to walk through them, so be on the lookout for these signs.
Sarah P. Duke Gardens
These 55 acre of public gardens are located on Duke University’s campus and the trails are open to dogs before 10AM and after 5PM. Enjoy this beautiful area exploring its Italianate terraces, Asian area and plenty of majestic water fountains. It is the best place to take your dog for a sightseeing filled morning or afternoon walk.
**Duke Gardens is closed until further notice. **
Parts & Labor at Motorco Music Hall
It is harder to find a place to eat that allows you to bring your dog along. We found that many of the restaurants with patio seating do allow dogs there, but make sure to ask before. At Parts & Labor they serve food truck like options that you can enjoy in their garage bar or out on their patio. It is also more than just food with areas for live music, comedy and more.
Eno River State Park
Only a 20 minute drive outside of Durham, Eno River State Park has everything your dog needs for a fun day in nature. Walk along 28 miles of free trail, take a challenging climb to Cox Mountain or just enjoy a tranquil day relaxing in the Eno River.
Barley Labs (Permanently closed)
Barley Labs is a brand new dog friendly taproom that opened up in the spring of 2018. They are more than just dog friendly, making the whole experience focused around your dog. There are mats for each dog when they walk in and of course some delicious treats and plenty of water bowls. Each table has a clip for the dog leash so you can enjoy some local beers from Durham, while your dog enjoys their own treats.
