A Romantic Weekend Getaway in Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston, South Carolina is one of the most romantic cities we have visited. As you stroll down the historic downtown area you feel transported into a romantic movie set of a Nicholas Sparks movie.

Charleston will steal your heart with its colorful houses, cobblestone streets and welcoming people. With a diverse history based on the back of the slave trade, the city has emerged as a charming and magical destination, welcoming to everyone.

Plan your next romantic getaway to this wonderful city, with something to offer for every couple. Not only is it the perfect place to enjoy new foods, drinks and attractions, there are also endless opportunities for a romantic photoshoot. Follow our three day itinerary to steal your significant other’s heart away in Charleston.

Day 1: Explore Downtown Charleston

Simply spend the day strolling around downtown Charleston. Walk from the American Theater down King Street. Take a bunch of romantic photos along rainbow road ending at battery park. Enjoy an informative guided tour in one or two of the many historic houses in the downtown area. There are plenty of fun and cheap things to do around Charleston.

Day 2: A day at the Plantation

Visit Magnolia Plantation or Middleton Plantation. We love the Magnolia Plantation, as it has something for everyone and a complete full day experience in one place. Spend the day with your loved one walking through the plantation’s beautiful gardens, take a tour of the house, walking down the swamp, take a nature trolley tour and end your day with a boat tour. This day can be magical and super romantic!

Day 3: Sip and Sun

Spend half the day relaxing either on Folly Beach or the Isle of Palms. Then spend the afternoon visiting the Charleston Tea Plantation, the only of its kind in North America and take a picture in front of the famous and historic Angel Oak Tree. Finish your day testing some moonshine at the Firefly Distillery or wine at the neighboring Deep Water Vineyard.
