At these lavender farms in NC, you can take amazing photos, smell the delicious aroma of the lavender or simply cut your own flowers to take home with you, with approval of course. The majority of these lavender farms are near Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. When heading to the lavender fields in NC remember to bring your own scissors.

North Carolina is not well connected between rural areas and cities, that is why the best way to get to the lavender farms in NC is by car, taxi or Uber/Lyft.

Before visiting some of the best lavender farms in NC make sure to read the rules and know what to expect from your visit.
- Something to be aware before heading to a Lavender field in NC is that lavender plants attract bees and butterflies. So be extra careful when picking lavender so you don’t get stung by a bee.
- Only visit the lavender farm in NC when the farm is open to the public.
- Smoking is not allowed in the fields nor the parking lot.
- Unless you are going to a dog friendly event, DO NOT bring your pet to the fields nor leave them in the car. It is hot.
- Bring your own scissors and bag and only cut the stems above all the leaves.
- Only walk between the lavender rows, do not walk along the weed fabric.
- Wear sunscreen as the sun is very strong and use bug spray to protect yourself.
- Wear comfortable shoes, remember you are going to a field.
- There are over 45 different species of lavender in the world with over 450 varieties. These include Lavender of different shades of purple and pink and even yellow.

When it is the best time to visit Lavender Farms in NC?
Visiting lavender farms in North Carolina is one of the best things you can do in late Spring and early Summer. In fact, the harvest season is from late April to late August. The flowers blossom in mid-June in North Carolina, and that is when you will see the lavender fields in its peak. The best time to see and pick lavender is in mid-June.
The majority of farms open their doors from May to August.

Lavender Oak Farms
Lavender Oak Farms is located a few miles from downtown Chapel Hill. You can cut your own lavender stems, for instance a bunch of 25 stems costs $10. You must bring your own scissors and bag. The season lasts from mid-May through August, with the exact dates for the 2024 season TBD. Lavender Oak Farms is the the best option to visit a lavender farm in the Triangle area. Lavender Oak Farm opens their doors to the public with over 60-acre farm land with 9 different kind of Lavender.

Sunshine Lavender Farm
Sunshine Lavender is located in Orange County and it is home to more than 1,000 plants. The lavender farm hosts an annual open house in June and offer several events throughout the summer. This year they are offering new workshops to create a custom glass blown hummingbird feeder, paint a barn quilt square and craft with fresh lavender as well. This workshops will be held on Saturdays, June 5 & June 12, from 9 AM to 5 PM. Timed tickets are required and should be purchased ahead of time. Sunshine Lavender is one of the best lavender fields in NC.

Dallas Lavender Lane Farm is located in Gaston County. The farm has 38-acre which is the home for four different varieties of lavender. One of our favorite things about Dallas Lavender Lane is its farm animals. You can see their goats and pigs. You cannot leave without trying the lavender lemonade slushies!
