When looking for a hotel there are three main criteria that the hotel needs to meet for us to fall in love with it. The hotel needs to be well located, needs to be cozy and comfortable and have a unique vibe or atmosphere. Aloft Miraflores in Lima, Peru meets all the criteria and which is why we choose this hotel to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. Even though on this trip we did not travel with our dogs what we love about the Aloft brand is that it is pet friendly.
The Aloft Miraflores by Marriott is located in Miraflores, one of the most lively neighborhoods in Lima, Perú. Its location is perfect to explore the Miraflores and Barranco neighborhoods. It is also close to Lima’s main attractions including Larcomar and el Malecon de Miraflores.
Our first impression of the hotel is super friendly hotel staff the doorman to the receptionist at the front desk.
The Aloft brand has its own personality that mixes trendy style, funky art and technology all at once. You feel the vibrant vibe from the moment you step into the lobby.
The Aloft Miraflores Facilities
My favorite thing about Aloft brand is that each is unique and so photogenic. The hotel has a snack bar called Refuel that is open 24 hours a day where you can buy snacks including chips, chocolates, soda, water and beer. The hotel also has a regular bar, a pool table, ample seating, an awesome pool, an outside patio and a small gym.
The rooms
The rooms at the Aloft Miraflores are spacious, clean and modern. The rooms have plenty of natural light. Every detail is considered and even given a funky spin. On the nightstand the was a sleepy time prep kit, with an eye mask, ear plugs and tea, all in a cool cassette tape case.
We let the hotel know in advance that we were celebrating our 5th year anniversary and they had prepared a surprise for us in our room at check in, a tray of delicious cookies.
Most importantly for the modern traveller, the WiFi was fast and reliable, making it easy to work or plan you travels
Dining Experience at the Aloft Miraflores
Breakfast: Even though breakfast is not included it is worth paying the extra 15 USD for the Buffet breakfast, with a range of hot food options and a made-to-order omelette bar. You can also choose the Continental breakfast for $6 or a full American breakfast for $9.
Dining Services: Room service is open 24/7. As with any room service, take note of the additional service fees.
Refuel grab-and-go: The snack bar provides a constant menu of sweet, savory, fast and fresh options, including salads, sandwiches and light snacks.
Our entire stay was fantastic from the relaxing afternoons at the pool to the lively nightlife. The high quality facilities and treatment from the staff combined with its central location puts Aloft at the top of our list for any future visit to Lima. For us the best part though is how many beautiful and fun photo opportunities there are around the hotel.
