Where To Sleep in Mexico City? Staying At The Sheraton Maria Isabel

For our first visit to Mexico City we did not know where we in the city with over 20 million inhabitants, 16 boroughs, and hundreds of neighborhoods or colonias. To be honest, it was super overwhelming figuring out where to stay as Mexico City, one of the largest cities in the world.

We started with some research on the things we wanted to do in Mexico City and then we mapped out the attractions that interested us based on its neighborhood. That is when we realized that there was no better place to stay in Mexico City than in the colonia Cuauhtémoc. The Sheraton Maria Isabel is an upscale hotel in the heart of downtown Mexico City and the hotel offers the perfect combination of luxury and leisure.

The view from our bedroom

Sheraton Maria Isabel is located at the Paseo de la Reforma, right next to the famous Angel of Independence landmark. It is also close to the historic downtown of Mexico City and the trendiest neighborhoods in the city such as Polanco and La Condesa. The Sheraton Maria Isabel’s close proximity to these highlights make it an ideal base for both business and leisure guests staying in Mexico City.

The staff

The staff at the Sheraton Maria Isabel are super friendly and always ready to help with top notch service. The check in process is very smooth and they will try their best to check you as soon as your room is ready. Everyone at the front desk was always smiling and they were all bilingual ensuring a problem free stay.

The rooms

For us, the important about a hotel is having a comfortable bed during our vacation to provide a good night’s rest allowing us to wake up full of energy to keep exploring the next day.

The hotel has 684 modern rooms and 72 upscale suites. We stayed in a room that is part of the Business Deluxe Club. The Business Deluxe Club features either one king bed or two queen beds, contemporary decor, luxury bedding, flat-panel TV, and white linens. Our room had one ultra comfortable Sheraton Signature bed and a stunning view of The Angel of Independence Monument, and High-Speed Internet Access.

If you forgot any of your essentials such as toothpaste, raiser or toothbrush do not worry the front desk will send them straight to your room on a complimentary basis.

As we travel for work it is important to have fast internet as we are always working remotely, and even if you just want to surf the internet it nice to have high speed internet. Once you connect to the WiFi, your device will stay connected everywhere in the building.

The property

The Sheraton Maria Isabel features luxury amenities on its property including a top-notch fitness center, rooftop pool, two on-site restaurants, event rooms, the Sheraton club lounge for those who would like to upgrade, a spa, a souvenir shop, a coffee shop and a beauty salon.

The Sheraton Club Lounge is located on the 18th floor of the Sheraton Maria Isabel and it is the perfect place to meet with friends while enjoying cocktails and a variety of snacks with breathtaking views of the city.
